Ramadan Umrah 2027

Umrah during Ramadan is the most sought-after of the year: fasting and praying in Makkah, living the nights of the blessed month closest to the Haram. Ramadan 2027 is expected around 7 February to 8 March (subject to moon sighting). In Morocco, places sell out months ahead and hotels near the Haram fill first — most booking happens between September and December. Our Sha'ban–Ramadan 2027 programmes are open: they leave in Sha'ban and cover the first days of Ramadan, with real prices per tier and room type. Other Ramadan departures appear here as soon as they open.

Frequently asked questions

Which visa do you need for an Umrah during Ramadan?

You need an Umrah visa. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's official FAQ sets out two routes: building your programme on an approved platform such as Nusuk, or going through an external agent who files the application. As a licensed agency, ODV-25012, we file your application and you follow its progress with no technical steps.

How long must my passport stay valid?

The official terms of the Saudi eVisa portal require at least 6 months of validity remaining from the date of entry into the Kingdom, not from the date of return. A passport expiring less than six months after you arrive will be refused, so check it before booking: renewal takes time.

Which vaccinations are required?

The Saudi Ministry of Health requires every person coming to perform Umrah to hold a quadrivalent ACYW meningococcal vaccination certificate, whatever their country of departure. Further requirements can apply depending on the country of origin and the season. We give you the list that applies to your file before the visa is filed.

Can a woman travel without a mahram?

Yes. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's official FAQ states that a woman is allowed to come and perform Umrah without a mahram, and sets no age condition for it. Our departures welcome women travelling alone as well as in a group, and the guidance on the ground is the same for everyone.

Can you bring children?

Yes, from the age of 5: that is the minimum age the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's official FAQ gives for performing Umrah. During Ramadan, plan for the rhythm: late nights around the prayers, dense crowds in the last ten nights, and heat in the afternoon. A hotel close to the Haram changes everything with young children.

Can you pay in instalments?

Payment is made at the agency, never online: you sign a written contract and receive an official receipt, as law 11.16 on the travel agency profession requires. The deposit appears in each programme’s conditions; the balance and its schedule are set in that contract. For a particular arrangement, ask us before booking.

When should you book for Ramadan?

Early. In Morocco, places on Ramadan trips are booked up months in advance and the hotels closest to the Haram are the first to fill; most booking happens between September and December. Check the season calendar too: the Saudi authorities set a last entry date each season for pilgrims coming from abroad.

What is the difference between a Sha'ban–Ramadan programme and a departure in the middle of Ramadan?

A Sha'ban–Ramadan programme leaves during the month of Sha'ban and ends in the first days of Ramadan: you live the passage from one month to the next in Makkah, before the crowds of the last ten nights. A departure inside Ramadan targets those last nights instead. The exact dates depend on the sighting of the crescent.

  • Rajab or Sha'ban instead of Ramadan: what you gain, what you lose

Choosing Rajab or Sha'ban over Ramadan means giving up Ramadan's tarawih and the reward a hadith of al-Bukhari and Muslim attaches to its Umrah, in exchange for performing the rites without fasting. Bab Makka's Sha'ban-Ramadan departures include the first nights of Ramadan, before the crowds of the last ten.

  • Ramadan Umrah: every question Moroccans ask, answered one by one

Wiki Tours International (Bab Makka), a licensed agency in Casablanca, answers the questions on Ramadan Umrah: the start of the month follows the crescent sighting, the Umrah visa allows 90 days in the Kingdom, and both Umrah and prayer in the Rawdah need a Nusuk permit each.

  • Arriving in Makkah before the first night of Ramadan

To be in Makkah on the first night of Ramadan, count from your arrival in Makkah, not the flight out of Casablanca, and arrive before the eve of the expected day with a margin covering a month that starts early at the crescent sighting. No date guarantees a specific night.

  • Ramadan Umrah: what the month in Makkah is really like

The rites of Umrah do not change during Ramadan: ihram, tawaf, sa'i, then shaving or trimming. What changes is the rhythm: a whole day built around the hour of iftar, nights stretched long by tarawih and qiyam. This first part explains the month itself, then walks through a full day, hour by hour.
